At Pod, our Videography team strategically integrates AI video tools. We use them to refine audio quality, stabilise footage and automate transcriptions, helping to streamline workflows and improve efficiency. While AI improves certain aspects of our production process, we remain selective in its use, ensuring that creativity and quality remain at the forefront.
In this article, we explore how our team uses AI in video production, the challenges these tools present and the benefits they bring from a professional perspective.
Do AI Video Editing Tools Detriment Video Production?
AI video editing tools can be incredibly useful in streamlining video production, but they do have limitations.
Videography is potentially the most manual aspect of a marketing strategy. The tools don’t yet exist to efficiently and reliably automate many of our tasks, as video production requires time, skill and expertise. A human touch, which AI has struggled with historically, is essential for video.

How Does AI Improve Audio Quality?
AI can improve audio quality by minimising background noise, adjusting volume, removing distortion and optimising equalisation. These tools all exist individually, but they require extensive manual alterations that are difficult to perfect.
Our preferred audio enhancement tool combines these functions to automatically achieve high-clarity audio quality. Many of our shoots are done on-site, allowing background noise from machines and personnel to interfere with the dialogue we want to capture. This tool ensures we get your audio up to scratch efficiently so we can focus on the exciting visual content of your video.
We also use various AI video editing tools to seamlessly blend your audio clips, preventing jumpcuts for a smoother listening experience.
Are Auto-Generated Captions Reliable?
Auto-generated captions falter most often when there are hyphens, acronyms, accents and verbal inflexion involved. They do provide a good basis for subtitle copywriting, but they can’t be relied on for perfection.
AI video creation tools can write captions for an entire video in a matter of seconds. However, discovering and manually correcting these inaccuracies amongst minutes of video can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.
We prefer to manually write captions and always get a second pair of eyes from our content team to make sure we’ve not missed anything.
How Does Pod Digital Stabilise Footage?
We stabilise footage by using AI to analyse motion and apply corrections, making it appear smoother. We use this function to our advantage, especially for slow-moving shots, focusing on a particular object in the frame.
Not every shot requires stabilisation, but it really streamlines the visual appeal for the ones that do.
Should AI Video Tools be Used in Professional Video Production?
Absolutely. It isn’t cheating, nor is it unethical. Using AI for video production isn’t the same as falsifying footage. It can be used in the most subtle ways to make very noticeable differences.
We understand that there’s still a lot of fear surrounding AI in relation to video and a lack of understanding of its beneficial applications in professional environments.
AI won’t take our jobs. People using AI will.
